Anyone who knows me can easily vouch my strong passion for drones. I discovered building and flying drones as an engaging hobby that blend my passions in engineering, photography, and flying.
Since building my first custom drone as a freshman in college, I have gone on to construct a variety of drones ranging heavylifting industry hexacopters, to snappy FPV racing drones, to palm sized racers, to DJI series photography quads.
With flying comes joy, but also risk. Those who watch my videos know how intimate I like to get to my scenes. I dont just want to be shooting from far away, a plane or zoom lens can just do that. I truly enjoy shots that get close and personal with subjects, fully taking advantage of the maneuverability of a drone. Unfortunately one particular complex shot resulted in me coming too close to a tree and clipping it. However, I was undeterred and took on my aerospace engineer analytical mentality to tackle the problem head on. Not only was I able to fix the drone successfully, but I saved time, money, and gained experience. I used my prior knowledge to repair the drone and became familiar with the ins and outs of my DJI phantom on a whole new level.
Its human nature, we make mistakes (especially flying). But don’t let that deter you from quitting. As a drone advocate, I want to help remove any obstacles that prevent people from discovering and enjoying flying. Happy Flying!
